Today is the last day to nominate directors to the board of the new-look Australian Institute of Superannuation Trustees (AIST).
Following the merger of AIST, CMSF and the IFS Training and Compliance Department under the AIST name on January 2, a new board will be elected at AIST’s first AGM on March 26, 2007. Only current AIST members are eligible for nomination. Some investors are “missing the point” of geopolitical risks by equating them to the disruptions from conflicts and wars, according to GIC chief economist Prakash Kannan, but in reality, geopolitical risk is no longer episodic or peripheral. This means investors need to think harder about inflation and country composition in their portfolio.
