Morse Consulting, an operations consultant to the investment industry, has hired a former Colonial First State executive to its Sydney office.
Drew Kidner becomes the thirteenth professional employee of Morse in Australia, and will lead its provision of investment administration advice to funds managers. Kidner has worked in the financial services industry for 20 years. Prior to Colonial First State/CBA Wealth Management, Kidner was a member of the Perpetual Investments senior executive team with responsibility for operations, business technology and project management across the funds management business. Morse provides business advice spanning front, middle and back office, strategy, mergers & acquisitions, outsourcing, technology and application architecture and operational reviews. Support services are provided in program management, change management, compliance and process and cost analysis.

Some investors are “missing the point” of geopolitical risks by equating them to the disruptions from conflicts and wars, according to GIC chief economist Prakash Kannan, but in reality, geopolitical risk is no longer episodic or peripheral. This means investors need to think harder about inflation and country composition in their portfolio.
