Change at the top of UBS GAM Australia

UBS Global Asset Management (Australia) has repatriated a senior Australian from its New York office to take over Paul Bolinowsky’s chief executive officer responsibilities.

In a move which the funds manager said was at Bolinowsky’s request, Ben Heap has returned to Australia after three years running UBS GAM’s infrastructure team for the Americas, and will become CEO of Australia from August 1.

Bolinowsky will return to focusing solely on the job he never actually relinquished since taking over the CEO reins from Colin Woods in 2006, which is running UBS GAM’s institutional business development.

Heap joined UBS GAM in 2007, and while in New York was involved in the fundraising for the UBS International Infrastructure Fund, which a spokesperson said amassed US$1.5 billion worldwide.

Prior to UBS GAM, Heap worked for TAB Limited, and Australian Wealth Management in a business strategy role.
