SSgA’s domestic sales boss exits

The head of institutional business development and client service for State Street Global Advisors (SSgA) in Australia has exited the business.

Justin Walsh, who became the manager’s first domestic head of business development and client service in April 2009, recently left the business, Rob Goodlad, managing director of SSgA in Australia, confirmed to I&T News.

Upon his appointment to SSgA, Walsh was in charge of an eight-person sales and client service team which covered the manager’s suite of products.

While Goodlad would not comment about the distribution of Walsh’s duties among the team, or on SSgA’s plans to replace him, it was understood that major clients – such as QSuper, UniSuper and NSW State Super – were informed of his departure and the interim measures taken to handle his workload.

Walsh joined SSgA from Perpetual Investments, were he was general manager of institutional sales and client service for its Australian equities products.
