AIST awards recognise excellence

NGS Super was awarded several prizes by the Australian Institute of Superannuation Trustees in the AIST Awards for Excellence, announced on November 24.

Ben Squires, manager of investments and finance at NGS Super, won the award for excellence in investing.

Squires joined NGS Super in 2008. NGS Super says its fund has been featured as one of the top 10 Australian funds last year and this year, according to researcher Chant West.

NGS Super says Squires is travelling and not available for comment.

Laurie Buchanan, the client relationship manager at NGS Super, won the AIST award for excellence in business development.

AIST also announced several Development Scholarships.

David Buley, a trustee director of NGS Super, won the AIST leader development scholarship.

The AIST leader development scholarship for a fund staff member was given to Debby Blakey, executive manager, member advice, HESTA.

HOSTPLUS, the $9.1 billion fund, won the AIST award for excellence in member services.

The AIST award for excellence in operations and administration went to Cameron Wood, operations manager, Australian Catholic Superannuation Retirement Fund.

AIST’s platinum communications award went to CareSuper. The gold prize went to HOSTPLUS. The silver award went to Superpartners and the bronze to Energy Super.
