Alan Retford, Director, is the Head of Real Estate Asset Management for APAC and is responsible for oversight of investment performance, including leasing, capital expenditure and disposition planning. Additionally, he plays a central role in maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders including agents, joint venture partners and investors. Mr. Retford is also a member of the APAC Real Estate Investment Committee.
Mr Retford’s service with the firm dates back to 2012, including his time with MGPA, which was acquired by BlackRock in 2013. Prior to joining BlackRock, Mr. Retford was an Associate Director at Stirling Bridge Capital where he was responsible for the analysis of commercial real estate opportunities for private high net wealth and international clients. Previously he was employed as a Senior Manager at the Royal Bank of Scotland backed developer, Alba Capital Partners. At Alba he was responsible for the development of financial models and preparation of tender documents for government and university development projects. Alan has over 22 years of experience in real estate, specialising in property investment, development, and asset management.
Mr Retford has a Bachelor of Business, Land Economics, University of Technology Sydney and Graduate Diploma of Applied Finance from the Securities Institute of Australia.
