Robert is a member of the leadership team for AustralianSuper’s global private equity strategy, including the management of a growing A$15bn+ private equity portfolio comprising funds, co-investments and co-underwrite investments as well as a global team of over 30 investors.
Since joining AustralianSuper in 2019, Robert has overseen the expansion of the Fund’s internal capabilities in private equity, with a particular focus on partnering with leading GPs on the development and implementation of the investment process for co-investments and co-underwrites. As part of his role, Robert sponsors new investment opportunities from origination through execution and into asset management. He is also involved in the governance and oversight of the portfolio including performance monitoring and LPAC or board level participation on select investments.
Robert has over 20 years of international investment experience from prior roles in investment banking, project finance and private equity, where he has led investments into companies across multiple sectors and geographies alongside leading international institutional investors.
Robert is a graduate of the tri-nation, trilingual, Master’s in Management programme at ESCP. He also holds a Diplôme de Grande Ecole (France) and Diplom Kauffman (Germany) from ESCP and a BA (Mod) in Business and Economics from the University of Dublin, Trinity College. He is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
