Shang Wu is a portfolio manager – retirement strategy at Aware Super. He is also responsible for research collaborations between the fund and academia in this field. Shang has over 10 years of experience in investment and retirement strategy research. He obtained his PhD in Actuarial Studies at UNSW Australia and his academic research focuses on financial decision making in retirement. Shang has published several papers in leading international economic, finance and actuarial journals. He is a qualified actuary, a member of the Actuaries Institute’s Superannuation and Investments Practice Committee and the convenor of the Retirement Income Work Group.
