Her passion for the industry and its self-regulation is one of the reasons for SPAA’s inception and subsequent recognition as the peak professional body for the SMSF sector. She is the face and voice of the association, responsible for overseeing membership, education, a wide range of services and the raising of standards within the SMSF industry.

Andrea has worked in the financial services industry for over 18 years and has established herself as an authority in the field of SMSFs. Andrea graduated from the University of South Australia with a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting). She has attained her Masters in Commerce and SMSF Specialist Advisor and CPA/FPS designations.

Andrea currently has significant involvement in the development of the SMSF sector and building of integrity in the industry through her participation in and membership of committees with the including the following; Federal Government Superannuation Advisory Committee, Federal Opposition Superannuation Advisory Committee, ATO Superannuation Consultative Committee, ATO National Taxation Liaison Committee, ASIC Financial Service Partnership, Financial Services Advisory Committee and Adelaide University International Centre for Financial Services Advisory Board.

Darren Stevens, Global Head of Product, Bravura Solutions

Darren Stevens is the Global Head of Product at Bravura Solutions where he is responsible for the management of the company’s research and development as well as the strategic direction of the company’s suite of wealth management software solutions.

He has 23 years of experience in the financial services sector.

Before joining Bravura Solutions Darren held a number of senior executive positions with ING Australia, TOWER Australia and actuarial consulting firms.

A Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries, Darren has held a number of Trustee and Board roles and has actively participated in industry bodies such as IAA, ASFA and IFSA.

Mark Thomas, Chief Executive Officer, van Eyk Research Limited

Mark Thomas is the chief executive officer of van Eyk Research Limited (van Eyk). van Eyk’s areas of operation include investment research, product, asset consulting, Three Pillars Portfolio Managers (shares team) and distribution.

Mark has been responsible for many of van Eyk’s product and portfolio developments including: iRate, van Eyk’s online research subscriber database; van Eyk Blueprint, a fund of fund series; and van Eyk Three Pillars Limited, a listed investment company.
