Industry Funds Management (IFM) has recruited from UBS Global Asset Management (UBS GAM) for its new business development manager.

Duncan Welsch, whose three-year term as a hedge fund product specialist with the New York office of UBS GAM ended late last year, will join IFM in Melbourne on April 22.

He will report to Eddy Schipper, executive director of business development at IFM, who said Welsch gained a “pretty good technical knowledge” about investment products during his time at UBS GAM.

The two-man sales team will distribute “everything” within IFM’s range of products, from private equity and infrastructure to indexed and active Australian equities, Schipper said.
