Another Investors Mutual senior exec departs

Investors Mutual (IML) has lost another senior portfolio manager, following on from the departure of Andrew King late last year.

Monik Kotecha, who for most of his seven years at IML co-ordinated equity research activity, left the firm in February according to chief executive Tim Hyett. It is understood Kotecha will take six months off, including some time in his birth country of Kenya. Hyett said that Kotecha’s role had changed late last year to include more marketing activities such as roadshows, following the appointment of Don Facchino and Sean O’Malley as large cap analysts. Hyett did not think the changed emphasis of Kotecha’s role had anything to do with his departure. “;I think he just decided he’d been here long enough,”; Hyett said. He said no replacement would be sought for Kotecha as the recent appointments of Facchino and O’Malley had ensured the large cap team was adequately resourced. Andrew King has been assisting Paradice Investment Management on a consultative basis since departing IML last year.
