A rising star at JANA Investment Advisers has been lured to a role created by Macquarie Funds Management (MFM) head of distribution, Bruce Murphy.

Raj Gohil will start at MFM on May 21 in a role exclusively responsible for researcher relationships across the manager’s product suite. “;The researcher and asset consultant relationships were previously looked after by several executives, including Bruce and Melissa Sheahan, but there’s so much going on it got to the stage where we needed a specialist,”; an MFM spokesperson said. “;Bruce thinks the world of Raj and offered the role to him.”; Gohil had spent nearly three years at JANA and had recently taken on principal responsibilities for fixed interest research. He had previously worked in MLC’s ThreeSixty division, after being selected for its graduate recruitment program in 2001. JANA managing director, Ken Marshman, said a direct replacement for Gohil would soon be identified.
