Catholic Super names star managers

Catholic Super has named the managers that were the strongest contributors to its annual performance, with small cap manager, Renaissance, the star performer.

In terms of total return Renaissance was the most outstanding performer with its small cap Australian equity portfolio returning 59.9 per cent. Chief investment officer of the fund, Tim Hughes, said there were many managers who made a contribution to the fund through either performance or style diversification, but named 12 managers that “materially contributed” to the fund’s performance. In Australian shares they were Cooper Investors, Acorn, Renaissance and BGI; in international shares, Marathon, Orbis and LSV; in infrastructure, ANZ Infrastructure Services; in absolute returns Quellos and Mesirow; and in currency Macquarie and Record. Catholic Super was the best performing fund measured by SuperRatings for the year to June.
