Changes in senior ranks at CARE, Statewide

Senior members of the secretariats at CARE Super and Statewide Superannuation Trust have departed the organisations.

Helen Davis, chief operating officer at Statewide has departed for a career sabbatical, according to chief executive Frances Magill. Davis was on staff at Statewide for nine years, and was employee number five in the organisation which now has more than 120 people on the payroll. Her decision to leave was made in mid-June and Davis’ last day was July 27. The position is currently being filled by David Bierton, the company’s chief financial officer. Magill said Statewide was undertaking a skills audit before seeking a full-time replacement. Davis’ responsibilities included the overview of Statewide’s operations, information communications, risk management and administration. Meanwhile, CARE Super’s general manager of business development and client partnerships, Richard Irving, has left for a job with a credit union after two and a half years with the fund. CARE chief executive, Julie Lander, said Irving’s responsibilities would be rolled up into an expanded role for Peter Theodorakopoulos, the general manager of marketing and client services, who joined CARE in early 2003.
