BT enlists star appeal to boost super interest

BT Financial Group is adding a touch of glamour today to its launch of a new retail superannuation offering, through the services of actress Melissa George in a parade of ‘retro’ fashion, to boost the awareness of super among young women.

BT is hosting a fashion parade, featuring the Australian actress, followed by a product launch in Sydney. The soon-to-be-listed investment arm of the firm is likely to be a beneficiary of any increase in retail super flows, which have continued to be strong after the changes to the super contributions limits last financial year. Rob Coombe, BT chief executive, will outline a simple super approach to capitalise on the Government’s changes. BT this year revamped its life insurance business which will coincide with its expansion in superannuation.
