Lochiel has extensive experience in the financial services industry. He has previously worked for Westpac Investment Management, Commonwealth Investment Management, Mercury Asset Management and State Super Investment and Management Corporation.
For the past seven years Lochiel has worked in various roles with State Street Global Advisers including, until recently, chief investment officer, Asia Pacific located in Singapore.
Lochiel has a Master of Business Administration and a Bachelor of Science (Honours1). He completed the Chartered Financial Analyst programme in 2000 and a Graduate Diploma of Financial Planning in 2004. He is currently working towards a doctorate in business administration.
Susan Darroch, Vice President, State Street Global Advisors Australia
Susan is a vice president of State Street Global Advisors, Australia, Limited and since 2001 has been head of the global structured products group in Australia. In 2008 she became the head for the Asia Pacific ex Japan region. Susan manages a team responsible for both domestic and International equity funds under a number of strategies, including full replication, wealth weighted, shadow and tax aware portfolio management.
Before joining SSgA in 1999, Susan worked for Commonwealth Fund Services (CFS) for four years in the guantitative applications area managing indexed equity portfolios and in the fixed interest team managing indexed fixed-interest portfolios. Before joining CFS, Susan spent over eight years working in money market and in treasury, both in Australia and London. Three of those years were spent working for Rothschild Australia Limited as a money market dealer. Before this, she gained experience working in different areas of banking and finance.
Susan received a Bachelor of Economics from Macquarie University. She also has a Graduate Diploma from the Securities Institute of Australia and, as such, has been admitted as a fellow of the Financial Services Institute of Australasia (Finsia).
Drew Douglas, Global Head of Custody, HSBC Securities Services
Drew Douglas was appointed global head of custody, covering HSBC’s global custody, sub-custody and domestic custody services, in July 2008. Based in London, Drew has worked with the HSBC Group for the past 15 years focused on international securities services.
In 1992, Drew began his career with the Bank of Bermuda specialising in credit financing and eventually hedge fund financing. Most of his career has been spent within the hedge fund servicing arena with Drew relocating to New York with the launch of Bank of Bermuda’s hedge fund administration business in 1997. He then moved to London as Head of European Sales and, in 2003, Drew returned to Bermuda to head the Bermudian and Cayman global fund services businesses during the HSBC acquisition of Bank of Bermuda.
