Access consulting head jumps to client

Access Capital Advisors has appointed a new head of asset consulting, following the incumbent’s decision to take a senior investment strategist role at an Access client, Cbus.

Tim Ridley will depart next week after three years with Access, taking the senior role in Trish Donohue’s investment team at Cbus, which has a direct infrastructure mandate with the deal-making side of the Access business.

The new head of asset consulting will be Ross Blakers, who has spent four years at Access after joining from the Australian Office of Financial Management, where he focused on credit and interest rate risk management.

Meanwhile Access has lost another partner in Simone Constant, who headed the Canberra-based risk management department. She decided not to return from maternity leave, instead taking a senior risk job with one of the big four banks.

Her fill-in for the past few months, Justin Webb, will now become her permanent replacement.

These latest staff moves come as Access rebuilds its New York office, all four of whom were recently poached by AMP Capital Investors. Andrew Cunanan is moving his family to New York, and Access CEO, Alexander Austin, said one analyst from each of the Canberra and Sydney offices would be joining him, while a “senior executive” from an American private equity firm had also been hired – but was yet to leave his previous employer.
