The end of February marked two years from the when the markets bottomed in the wake of the GFC, and Australian and international share markets are still more than 20 per cent off their peaks, according to Chant West, and listed property markets are still even further back.
“So funds still face an uphill battle to get back to their pre-GFC levels – even those that are well diversified into unlisted assets,” said Chant.
ASFI’s sustainable finance taxonomy was meant to make greenwashing harder. But with the framework now being piloted by a slew of asset owners, banks and rating houses, there are lingering questions as to whether it does the opposite.
