Conexus Financial, publisher of Investment Magazine, has announced a number of new appointments as it relaunches the title as the leading publication for executives in Australian superannuation and institutional investment.
Darcy Song joined as a full-time Journalist in Conexus’ Sydney office this month. She was previously a reporter at Mumbrella, covering the media and marketing industries, and has written about start-ups and venture capital for Dynamic Business.
Glenda Korporaal has been appointed Contributing Editor, alongside her ongoing commitments as a senior writer and columnist for The Australian. Over three decades in journalism, Korporaal has built a reputation as an authoritative commentator and newsbreaker across business and political topics. She is a former editor of The Deal Magazine and sits on the board of the China Studies Centre at the University of Sydney.
Russell Baker has been appointed ESG Correspondent, writing a weekly column on topics including the energy transition, net zero push, climate risk and relevant regulations and global standards. He will continue to operate his consulting business, advising businesses on sustainability and investment matters. He is a former senior adviser at the Australian Trade and Investment Commission and before that had an extensive career in business journalism, writing for publications such as The Australian Financial Review, the UK’s Financial Times, Singapore’s The Business Times and The South China Morning Post.
Conexus Financial editor-in-chief Aleks Vickovich said the new-look team would help cement the publication’s position in the market as it neared its 20th year. “Institutional asset owners have never been more important to the fabric of the Australian economy,” Vickovich said.
“As their influence rises, these organisations need not only scrutiny, but sober and meaningful thought leadership and coverage of the topics that matter most to their organisations. Our hope is to produce journalism that both challenges the sector and highlights its enormous contribution to national life, thereby helping to support a more transparent and healthy financial system for end consumers.”
The publication is also hiring for a full-time Editor to help set editorial strategy and lead the team of staff reporters and contributors. For more information on the role please visit: https://www.linkedin.com/hiring/jobs/3741893066/detail/
