Rimes Technologies, a feeder of index data to funds managers and custodians, has added the UBS Australian Bond Index to its suite of indices.
The data on the UBS Index and all its constituents will update between 8pm and 9pm AEST each day, after allowing a few minutes for ‘quality assurance’ by Rimes analysts. Rimes head of Asia Pacific, Andy Barrow, claims his firm is now the only provider of indices and constituents across all of the listed fixed-income benchmarks used by Australian institutions. Rimes data is delivered to the desktops of portfolio managers, performance analysts and compliance managers, and is accessible either through Excel or Rimes’ new ‘Smartfiles’ service.
Submissions to ASIC’s discussion paper on public and private markets highlight a glaring contradiction: super funds, created and nurtured by regulation that has propelled them to more than $3 trillion in assets under management, oppose new regulations that would enhance safeguards around how those assets are managed.
