Registrations for the Australian Council of Superannuation Investors (ACSI) annual conference to be held on June 15, 2007 have already exceeded last year’s record of 220.
Registrations close next week on June 8, 2007 and Phil Spathis, ACSI executive officer encouraged all superannuation fund professionals – including trustees, fund executives and staff and fund managers – to attend. Keynote speaker at the conference is BHP Billiton’s Ian Wood who will speak to delegates on how the company is managing its environmental risks and responsibilities. Stephen Davis, co-author of The New Capitalists with David Pitt-Watson and Jon Lukomnik, will address the conference on the changing role of institutional investors in an environment where the owners of companies are much more representative of society as a whole. ACSI will also launch the third edition of its Corporate Governance Guidelines at the conference. Registration forms are available on the ACSI website at http://www.acsi.org.au/documents/ACSI_Conference_Invite_2007.pdf.
