MLC Implemented Consulting has hired a senior business development manager.
Sandra Krueger, most recently a business development manager for Citigroup and formerly in a similar role with Barclays Global Investors, will report to Christine Cameron, MLC Implemented Consulting head of sales, in her new position. “Krueger’s focus will be on growing mid to large institutional clients looking for a range of services including MLC’s multi-manager investment approach and those seeking a fully implemented investment solution,” an MLC spokesperson said. In other news, MLC has also launched an online application function for many of its MasterKey investment products which it said could save financial advisers at least three days wait before sales confirmation. Anthony Waldron, MLC general manager superannuation and investments, said the platform’s new online function would eliminate the need for advisers to send any paperwork to MLC. “Most of the companies that provide online functionality still require the adviser to print, sign and send the application after completing the form online,” Waldron said in a statement yesterday. “MLC’s new process eliminates these last three steps – all the adviser has to do is complete the online form and hit the submit button.” The online service is only available on MasterKey Super, Super Fundamentals, Investment Service and Investment Service Fundamentals. However, Waldron said the group’s pension and insurance products would be available online later this year.
The $34 billion Brighter Super is set to shift a significant proportion of equities assets in MySuper from passive to active management. Chief investment officer Mark Rider says the move is possible because of the scale created by mergers, and the fund will be looking to its newly appointed active managers to generate performance through the cycle by taking idiosyncratic risks.
