Russell Investment Group has lost another senior business development manager, hot on the heels of James Panaretos leaving last month to head institutional sales at Mariner Financial Services.
Stephen Bramley, who was heading up sales of implemented consulting services, is understood to have resigned but any subsequent employer is not known. Prior to joining Russell, Bramley was head of business development for MLC Implemented Consulting (MLC IC). Russell, where former MLC IC head of institutional business Joanna Davison is director of sales, said through its media advisors that it preferred not to comment. Bramley is not the only senior consulting marketer in apparent limbo at present. Australian Skandia confirmed that the head of product and marketing at its acquiree asset consultancy Intech, Michael Bonhote, left prior to former Suncorp marketer Felicity Nicholson being hired in a new role heading Skandia’s marketing, product and strategy earlier this month. Bonhote, a former Deutsche Asset Management director of marketing who is understood to have taken a package and be considering his options, was unavailable for comment.
The $34 billion Brighter Super is set to shift a significant proportion of equities assets in MySuper from passive to active management. Chief investment officer Mark Rider says the move is possible because of the scale created by mergers, and the fund will be looking to its newly appointed active managers to generate performance through the cycle by taking idiosyncratic risks.
