The Australian Foreign Exchange Committee and the Australian Financial Markets Association have announced a new method and timing for calculation of the Australian dollar reference rate.
WM Reuters, an independent provider of foreign exchange rates, has provided access to its hourly calculations of reference rates for global currencies. From July 1, valuations of the Australian dollar against the US dollar will be published electronically twice daily, at 10am and 4pm. The WM Reuters Australian Fix 10am rate will replace the Hedge Settlement Rate, which was published each morning at 9.45 am Sydney time.
