CSAM chief won’t deny boutique rumours

Aberdeen has already announced its global equities process will take over from the Capital International process, for which CSAM had been retail distributor and currency manager since 1997. The move has inspired Capital International to address Australia more directly, using Singapore-based Mark Speciale to try and convince as many investors as possible to stay with it and not migrate to Aberdeen. Speciale also plans to service institutional clients more directly, with pending implications for the National Capital Alliance joint venture with nabInvest.

New Future Fund CIO eyes shifting dynamics in emerging markets

The Future Fund delivered a 14.8 per cent one-year return to June 30, 2026, attributing the return to a combination of exposure to commodities, geographic diversification, an increased focus on active management and low exposure to bonds. Newly minted chief investment officer Richard Brandweiner also highlighted strong performance in emerging markets.
