Ex-Towers Watson unlisted assets chief is back

The former head of private markets at Towers Watson, Sandi Orleow, has resurfaced in the industry almost a year after leaving the asset consultancy.

Orleow has joined MLC Group Insurance in a newly created role as head of client relationships, working alongside the business development team to liaise with institutional clients.

According to the head of MLC Group Insurance, Andrew Howard, a high-profile hire such as Orleow’s was made possible by strongth growth in the business, which has grown 30 per cent in the last 12 months to more than $265 million of annual premiums from industry fund, master trust and corporate clients. A second senior position has also just been created, head of operations, which has been filled by Natalie Martinovich in an internal promotion for the 10-year veteran of the business.

Orleow departed Towers Watson (then Watson Wyatt) in September 2009, with her unlisted assets oversight shifted to the portfoli construction group, under then-recent recruit, Ross Barry (ex Sovereign Investment Research).
