Commonwealth Superannuation Corp. hires Peter Carrigy-Ryan as CEO

Peter Carrigy-Ryan, the former chief operating officer of Australian Reward Investment Alliance, has been hired as chief executive of the $24-billion Commonwealth Superannuation Corp.

The Commonwealth Superannuation Corp. was formed on July 1 from the merger of ARIA, Military Super boards and the Defence Force Retirement and Death Benefits Authority. The corporation is responsible for investing and managing money for about 680,000 people.

“I can’t talk about my appointment,” says Carrigy-Ryan. “You’ll have to talk to the chairman Tony Hyams but he’s travelling overseas at the moment.”

Commonwealth Superannuation Corp. communications adviser Jennifer Firbank referred questions about the hiring of Carrigy-Ryan to a statement.
