Ibbotson Associates Australia will provide investment advice on dynamic asset allocation to the $18 billion superannuation fund Sunsuper.

The unit of Morningstar Inc. will analyse and provide advice to Sunsuper based on valuation, fundamentals and sentiment with a three- to five-year time horizon, says Daniel Needham, managing director and chief investment officer at Ibbotson in Australia.

“Specialised and niche services are important to institutional investors going forward,” says Needham. “We’re talking to a number of people.”

In Australia Ibbotson advises on $28 billion.

The Future Fund delivered a 14.8 per cent one-year return to June 30, 2026, attributing the return to a combination of exposure to commodities, geographic diversification, an increased focus on active management and low exposure to bonds. Newly minted chief investment officer Richard Brandweiner also highlighted strong performance in emerging markets.
