Kinetic Super has appointment Andrew Barnett as chief executive, effective May 16.

Barnett will take over from Elizabeth Thomas who has been acting chief executive since August last year.

Barnett has more than 20 years’ experience in the financial services industry, having worked in senior executive positions at National Australia Bank, AXA and ANZ with particular expertise in superannuation, retirement solutions and wealth management.

Commenting on the appointment, chair of the board, Frank Gullone said: “We are pleased to have secured someone of Andrew’s calibre and experience.

“His expertise, gained through his impressive career in financial services, will be a vital addition to Kinetic Super as we embark on an exciting new growth phase for the fund and delivering even greater value to our members.”

Gullone also commented that he was extremely grateful for the significant contribution made by Elizabeth Thomas in taking on the acting chief executive role while the search was underway.

He said: “Elizabeth stepped into the acting CEO role at a pivotal time. She did an exceptional job during her time with us and now returns to the leadership of her consulting firm.”

Barnett said he was thrilled to be leading the Kinetic Super team in the super fund’s next phase.

“I’m excited to work with such a dynamic and results-driven team. I look forward to working alongside the Kinetic Super Board to build on the strong foundations already established, while also developing new products and services that will benefit our current and future members,” Barnett said.
