Telstra Super chief investment officer Graeme Miller has been honoured by IMCA australia with a life membership.
The announcement was made at the IMCA australia annual conference in Melbourne on Tuesday September 19, 2017.
Miller has been an active contributor to IMCA australia and the CIMA program over the
past decade. He served on the board from 2007 to 2016, including stints as chair from 2011 to 2012 and then deputy chair till 2016. Miller has also been a member of the CIMA program faculty since 2006 and an education committee member since 2009.
Outgoing IMCA australia chair Brett Elvish said Miller has been an outstanding contributor to the growth and success of the organisation over the past decade.
“Graeme has served with distinction in many capacities, and is renowned for his clarity of thought and strong appreciation of governance, and has always been a very wise counsel whenever I have needed his guidance,” Elvish said.
Miller said he was humbled by the recognition.
“It has been privilege to contribute to the growth and success of IMCA australia, and I’m especially excited that the CIMA program is now so well-recognised across the industry.”
In his current role, Miller is responsible for leading the investment team responsible for the $19 billion portfolio at Telstra Super, the country’s largest corporate super fund.
Prior to that, he spent 17 years at the firm now trading as Willis Towers Watson in senior leadership and consulting roles, including nine years as director investment services where he was responsible for aggregate assets under advice of more than $300 billion.
Elvish said that over his 25-year career in superannuation and investment consulting Miller has contributed strongly to the industry by providing high quality advice to some of the largest and most influential investors in Australia.
In other news announced at the conference on Tuesday, Elvish confirmed he plans to retire as the organisation’s chair in November and unveiled a plan for association to rebrand itself in 2018 as the CIMA Society of Australia.
