After a tumultuous past 12 months, set off by
the crisis in the US sub-prime mortgage market, some financial institutions
are still looking shaky, the sharemarket remains in
the doldrums at 30 per cent below its peak, consumer and investor confidence is
low and inflation looms as another possible dark cloud on the horizon.
