Wrap technology provider, InfoComp, will grow its test and development centre in India to 45 people in a year’s time, driven primarily by offshore growth in the UK.
InfoComp has had a development team in New Delhi for about six years and currently employs about 20 local people there. Rob De Dominicis, chief executive of InfoComp, said the growth of the Indian centre will be an extension of the test and development centre already in operation. “We do the first stage of development in Australia and then do things like cutting the code offshore,” he said. The Indian centre will not replace the client support done in Australia and the UK, he said. InfoComp, already an established player in Australia, has successfully developed its business in the UK, providing its Composer wrap platform to Abbey and James Hay, with two more wrap tenders outstanding in that market. De Dominicis said the UK will be where the biggest growth in the business will be, and the firm now has 50 of its 150 staff working on UK clients. The growth in the UK has attracted a buyer with GBST Holdings taking over InfoComp for $56 million only last week. InfoComp will become the wealth management arm of that business when the acquisition is completed, probably in September.
