Frontier plucks new analyst from academia

Frontier Investment Consulting has appointed an authority on the effects of terrorism on financial markets as an analyst.

Marie-Anne Cam recently joined the consultant from RMIT, where her PhD thesis was entitled: ‘The impact of terrorist attacks on financial markets’. This followed on from a Masters of Finance studied at the same university. While she has lectured and tutored on finance, her appointment to Frontier is her first job in the field outside academia. Fiona Trafford-Walker, managing director of Frontier, said that Cam will work with institutional clients and conduct manager research. It was probable that she would cover hedge funds in the team led by Kim Bowater, said Allison Hill, a Frontier consultant who works with Bowater. “When new analysts come in we like to ask them the areas that they’re interested in and offer them opportunities,” Hill said. Cam, who moved to Australia from Paris to study and work, started at Frontier last week.
