Intech attracts more QICers, pushes dynamic asset allocation

Intech Investments has hired BT Investment Management’s former head of quant analysis to run a new dynamic asset allocation capability, while a husband-and-wife team of senior QIC investment professionals has also joined the fold.

BTIM’s former head of quant analysis, Simon Elimelakh has joined Intech as head of strategy, where his immediate priority will be to develop dynamic asset allocation. Chief executive officer at Intech, John Gethin-Jones said the implemented consultant had been considering a dynamic asset allocation offering for a while, but it was something that had needed to be resourced properly. Matt Tuxford and his wife Alicia Tuxford, both research analysts within QIC’s implemented equities team, have also joined Intech. Matt will be in charge of equities research and portfolio construction, while Alicia will be responsible for risk management profiling. Both worked with Gethin-Jones in his previous role as head of QIC. Meanwhile, Daryl Hawkey, chair of State Trustees and former executive director at Rothschild Australia Asset Management, has joined the Intech board as a non-executive director. He replaces Michael Monaghan, who has joined Deloitte’s superannuation team.
