Mercer Sentinel hires two consultants

Mercer Sentinel, the backoffice advisory arm of the Mercer group, has recruited Pushkar Thakur from the retirement, risk and finance side of the company.

In his new role Thakur will concentrate on investment operations and transition management services for Mercer Sentinel.

Before joining Mercer he worked at Macquarie Bank in the real estate investment banking business unit.

Mercer Sentinel has also recently recruited a senior consultant, Matthew Heeney, from AMP Life. He will concentrate on issues associated with custody, valuations and transitions.

New Future Fund CIO eyes shifting dynamics in emerging markets

The Future Fund delivered a 14.8 per cent one-year return to June 30, 2026, attributing the return to a combination of exposure to commodities, geographic diversification, an increased focus on active management and low exposure to bonds. Newly minted chief investment officer Richard Brandweiner also highlighted strong performance in emerging markets.
