State Street has created a new senior sales role straddling its Investor Services and State Street Associates businesses, reflecting that clients of a core custodian are increasingly requesting a broader array of services from that provider.
Greg O’Sullivan, who in recent years had transferred from custody sales within State Street to its Global Markets division, takes on the newly-created position of head of sales for State Street’s Investor Services and State Street Associates’ Currency Management businesses in Australia.
The new position, based in Sydney, will be responsible for setting the strategic direction for sales and business development in Australia and New Zealand.
Michael Brager, senior vice president of State Street’s Investor Services business in Australia, said creating the position acknowledged the growing importance of bringing together the capabilities of the complementary businesses to provide clients with more streamlined and coordinated business solutions.
“The volatility that financial markets have experienced over the past nine months means that client needs are more complex and they are looking to us to help them identify better ways to service their businesses,” he said.
Head of sales and marketing for State Street Investor Services, Chris Field, will report in to O’Sullivan in the new role.
