NabInvest poaches multimanager executive

Nick Basile has lured an old Legal & General colleague, who most recently headed investment services for a big multimanager, to join his investment team at nabInvest.

Tim Batho, who replaced Steven Hall as head of investment services at ipac in September 2006 (at the same time as Jeff Rogers became CIO), has just joined Basile’s team to “work on a range of investment strategies”, according to a spokesperson.

Batho and Basile worked together at Legal & General’s investment division in the early 1990s, and then again from 1999 at Commonwealth Investment Management, where Basile ran the business and Batho headed index management and transition management.

Ipac is understood to have tapped executive search firm Heidrich & Struggles to find a replacement for Batho.

As investment director at nabInvest, Basile drives business strategy and leads the origination and closure of transactions  globally. He also has responsibility for nabInvest’s sector specialist teams, including Boutiques and Joint Ventures, Property and Infrastructure, as well as the fixed interest shop, National Specialist Investment Management.
