MLC ups the ante with group life feature

MLC Group Insurance is claiming a victory with its free non-super salary continuance offer called ‘Best Doctors’.

The offer, launched last December, allows about 200,000 MLC clients and their families to have access to the service which provides for a greater range of treatment options in the event of a call on the insurance.

According to Andrew Howard, general manager, MLC Group Insurance, the fact that all clients with employer-owned group salary continuance policies outside super have access to the service, at no additional cost meant that MLC was really trying to do the right thing by its clients and advisers.

MLC last year launched an online service which provides access to a set of transactional information and additional service capabilities that update in real-time.

Howard said that, of various client responses, one said: that the no-cost offer was the most significant seen from an insurer in the past 30 years.
