BNP Paribas Securities Services (BNP PSS) is searching for a new co-head of operations, after Darren Booth resigned after six months in the role.
Booth previously ran operations and IT at Melbourne-based IOOF Investment Management. He joined Sydney-based BNP PSS on April 16, but had not relocated his family by the time he resigned last month. Greg Nichols has been appointed acting co-head of operations in the interim. “;Greg has a strong background in managing operations, having previously been head of operations for the Cogent business,”; said BNP PSS Asia-Pacific managing director, Jean-Marc Pasquet. He added that Nichols would retain his responsibilities as head of operational risk while local and global candidates were considered for Booth’s replacement. The other co-head of operation remains Sue Jorgensen, who oversees business change programs within BNP PSS.
The role of IFM Investors in arranging a visit by a delegation of Australian super funds to the US last month gives a pointer to the scale of the longer-term ambitions of the global super-fund-owned asset manager, and a recent investment in the manager by the UK pension fund NEST is designed to give it even greater clout. IFM chair Cath Bowtell tells Investment Magazine the manager aims to be a partner to governments around the world as they seek capital to build critical infrastructure.
