Fund rating firm Standard & Poor’s, in association with Professional Planner magazine, has named the best fund managers in Australia for 2011.
Schroder Investment Management was named Fund Manager of the Year by S&P, reflecting what the researcher describes as “key strengths across its product offerings, including a clearly defined investment style, disciplined and repeatable investment processes, and highly experienced, skilled and well resourced investment teams”.
Schroder also won S&P’ s global equities – emerging markets award, and the multi-sector award. Reflecting Schroder’s previous victories in the emerging markets category in 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2010, the manager was presented with a Sustained Excellence Award.
The award for Product Distributor of the Year – for the organisation that distributes the best third-party funds management capability to the Australian market – went to Macquarie, for its Professional Series.
The awards were presented at a lunch in Sydney last Friday, co-hosted by S&P and Professional Planner, a sister publication to I&T News.
